I’ve been tinkering around today with the blog design today.  After nearly six months of this blogging adventure, I still felt I hadn’t quite found “the look” I had been searching for.  I’m on a wait list to have the amazing team over at Wooden Spoons Kitchens help me fully redesign my look this fall, but I wanted a bit of a change while I’m waiting for a real makeover.  Really, it would be handy to know how to code.  The thing is, I’m too busy cooking to bother to figure it out…

You know, It’s been a pretty fabulous June at House Morell, and a similarly fabulous month in my blogging world.  I thought I’d share a few links and ideas that have inspired me this month.

  • It’s been a continual World Cup party at House Morell this month… and if my house wasn’t full of teenagers all the time, I’d be tempted to whip up some caipirinhas to celebrate (Lord knows, they would have been fun to sip on during that insane Brazil – Chile game yesterday).  Just in case, I pinned the wonderful step-by-step recipe from Aneta on The Wanderlust Kitchen.
  • But I have to admit, I have been indulging a bit too much with the sweet stuff is this land of blogging… so I was thrilled to read a review of The Salad Samurai on The Fig Tree.  After reading the recipe for Asparagus Pad Thai Salad, I picked up a copy of the book the other day, and can’t wait to start working through it next week.  Author Terry Hope Romero’s wildly creative recipes will make a vegetable-focused few weeks fun.  I’m certain of it.
  • And as I mentioned, I’m approaching the 6th-month anniversary of this crazy blog project of mine… in order to reflect upon what I am doing well, what needs to be improved (lots!), and what direction I would like to take going forward, I enrolled in the Blog Life Online Workshop through the Beautiful Mess blog… it’s been such a cool endeavor, and I’ve only just begun.

Thanks to all for the inspiration, and here’s to a similarly fab July!
